Case study: Aidan Cross23rd January, 2019
Bowling ‘em over – that’s our FAST Fund-backed Norton cricketer Aidan Cross!
We gave Aidan £300 to go on a cricket tour to Ampleforth with the Cleveland county Under 14 team.
And he played his part in leaving the opposition stumped as he put on his whites to appear five times in a number of roles.
A wicketkeeper, batsman and bowler, versatile Aidan plays regular club cricket for Norton Under 15s.
He also represents Norton’s fourth team as opening batsman and wicketkeeper and bowls for Norton thirds.
“The tour was great to give me experience, so it’s a big thanks to the FAST Fund,” said the Our Lady & St Bede Catholic Academy pupil.
“I’ve been playing cricket since I was seven, so it’s second nature, and I want to get back into Cleveland and get trials for Durham next,” added the 14-year-old, whose cricketing heroes are AB de Villiers and Stuart Broad.
Keep hitting it for six, Aidan!
