Case study: Amy Carr13th March, 2018
AMY CARR is among our many FAST-funded young sports people who are racing to the top of the podium in their chosen sport.
The Eaglescliffe disability athlete made good use of the £2,100 she received from the FAST Fund in winter 2015, putting it towards fortnightly physiotherapy, equipment and clothing, and training costs.
Under-20 star Amy has been in fabulous form for several seasons now after the donation allowed her to focus more on her training and performances while under less financial pressure.
An England Junior Championships gold and silver medallist, she really hit her stride in 2017 – winning a medal hat-trick at the first-ever International Paralympic Committee (IPC) World Junior Championships.
Competing in the Under 20 age group T37 disability category for athletes with cerebral palsy, Amy motored to gold in the 200 metres and long jump in Switzerland, and also captured 100m bronze.
Amy then went on to represent Scotland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in her first senior international, competing in the long jump.« Back to all posts
